The Philippine Consulate in Brisbane participated in the Philippines-Australia Multicultural Association (PAMA, Inc.) Spring Festival 2024, held on 7th September at Robelle Domain Parklands (The Circle). The event celebrated the vibrant American Rock and Roll culture of the ’50s and ’60s, creating an exciting atmosphere filled with nostalgia and rhythm!
Consul Atty. Sheryll Gabutero delivered a speech, highlighting the importance of multiculturalism and unity. PAMA was honored to be joined by Mayor of Ipswich Theressa Harding, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Hon. Charis Mullen (Member for Jordan), Minister for Employment and Small Business Hon. Lance McCallum (Member for Bundamba), Federal Member for Blair Shane Newman, Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism John-Paul Langbroek (Member for Surfers Paradise), Councillor for Ipswich Division 2 Paul Tully, and CEO of Springfield City Group Ms. Raynuha Sinnathamby.
Organised by PAMA President Jomar Nivea and the PAMA team, the festival showcased Filipino culture infused with the lively spirit of American rock and roll. Attendees enjoyed delicious food stalls, energetic performances, and a festive atmosphere celebrating both Filipino and multicultural heritage.
