MCGI Cares Brisbane 2023
On the 18th June 2023, our Honorary Consul, Atty. Sheryll Gabutero was invited to give a message to students at the Keng-Tudor Park Community Recreation Centre at the Members of Church of God International (MCGI) congregation.
The morning program was in celebration for the Elderly and Widows, taking a glimpse at their past and present lives in light of biblical undertones. Our Consul participated in the afternoon festivities with the welcoming of Filipino students into the community mentoring on how to navigate in a new environment, establishing new connections and widening their circle of network that can assist in their educational, accommodation, and employment opportunities. Our Consul was also invited to open MCGI’s Free Store; a program created by Brother Eli Soriano and Brother Daniel Razon. It is a one-of-a-kind free store chain where vulnerable members of the community may avail their basic needs like food, groceries, clothing and footwears as well as other household needs. All items inside the MCGI Free Store are donations from brethren in the Church of God International.
The Philippine Consulate Queensland would like to thank Mr. Rob Wenceslao of UNTV News and Rescue for the invitation and Members Church of God International for organizing the event.
