In celebration of Queensland Multicultural month, Gold Coast Filipino Australia Performing Arts Ensemble (GCFAPAE) presented for the second year, a multicultural festival which featured a variety of cultural performances, traditional music, dance and delicious Philippine cuisine at Robina Auditorium at the Gold Coast. The event was hosted by the President of GCFAPE, Shirley Nield in collaboration with Ilocano Ti Australia group and its President, Chris Ramos, with guest speakers, Glenn Barry (First Nations representative for the Gamilaraay group), Philippine Consul Sheryll Gabutero, former Councilor and running for the seat of Burleigh, Hermann Voster and Member for Surfers Paradise/Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism and representing Leader of Opposition David Crisafulli, John-Paul Langbroek. In support of multicultural affairs and also in attendance was Jake Coates of Thriving Multicultural Communities (TMC) and Ree Ali of Multicultural Communities Council. Dance performances included multiple Filipino dancing groups, Kizuna Taiko, Bolivia Marka and Australian Chinese Women’s Federation Inc to name a few.
