Last October 2024, Honorary Consul for the Philippines in Queensland, Atty. Sheryll Gabutero made a courtesy call with Deputy Majority Leader of the Philippine House of Representatives, Congressman Jose ‘Bong’ Teves Jr. of TGP Partylist. The meeting, arranged by Triskelion members of Queensland under the leadership of Chairwoman Gale Mason-Carroll, highlighted the ongoing commitment of Triskelion members to the Philippine community in Queensland.
The courtesy meeting served as a platform to discuss the thriving Philippine community in Queensland, which has been marked by the active participation and volunteer efforts of its Triskelion members including their participation in providing logistics at various Filipino fiestas and their involvement in Queensland Filipino Excellence Awards last April 2024, tree-planting activities, and assisting with the Philippine Embassy and Philippine Consulate mobile mission in Calamvale, Queensland, last September 2024. Congressman Teves expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Triskelion members and highlighted how their contributions play a vital role in strengthening the bond between Australia and the Philippines. Consul Gabutero extended an invitation to Hon. Teves and his team to visit Queensland and meet the active members of Triskelion for 2025.
